Hi! My name is Jillian Goltzman. I’m a freelance journalist, copywriter, and public speaker.

I’m a Texas-based journalist who covers culture, social impact, technology and lifestyle. I love identifying under-reported issues in the community, using my voice to highlight and uplift women’s experiences, and analyzing how the internet impacts the way we live. For Rewire.News, I wrote an opinion piece on the Little Sisters of the Poor v. Pennsylvania verdict regarding birth control. The piece highlights my own experience with PMDD, as well as the plights of chronically ill women who suffer from PCOS and endometriosis.

For InnovationMap, I reported on the lack of access to sex education and birth control in the state of Texas. Most notably, women of color are disproportionately targeted with negative campaign messaging regarding pregnancy prevention. Own Every Piece, an initiative by UT Health, seeks to change the narrative and provide access to women in need.

Public Speaking & Hosting

Outside of writing, I am a public speaker who speaks on subjects like using social media for impact, the future content creation, how to use social media for your business, influencer culture, and freelance journalism. I lead the Blogger Union Chapter of Houston where I host frequent workshops for creatives. I’ve been a public speaker at conferences like ALT Summit, Thrive Creative Conference, Hispanize, and the American Marketing Association of Houston. I’ve also been a speaker and guest lecturer at various institutions including the University of Houston’s C.T. College of Business, University of Houston’s Valenti School of Communication, Broward College, Miami International University of Art & Design, and Miami-Dade College.

I have five years experience teaching workshops, hosting panels, emceeing events, and public speaking on various subjects.
